I am very happy you're writing about this topic. It very much reminds me of Molly Dickens, who writes The Maternal Stress Project. I think this article would be even better if you would interview her and include some of her research in your piece.

Josie, thank you for writing this. So many thoughts, but I also want to make you aware that if you haven’t considered anything in regards to perimenopause, this is also a symptom of perimenopause. And another symptom of our broken medical system, which doesn’t even educate women on the 5 to 10 to possibly 15 years before menopause hits and the litany of symptoms that can hit us. We become less resilient to stress because our progesterone drops in our estrogen is going haywire. Heart palpitations are absolutely a symptom of perimenopause. So while the surfacey issue might be stress, the underlying issue might be perimenopause, and dropping progesterone. This doesn’t mean anything you said was untrue. It is absolutely 1000% true this is just the deeper underlying issue beyond all of this and why women are struggling even more because while we are trying to hold everything together for our family and ourselves, our bodies are going through this major biological shift that we don’t have enough help to know about or even understand in the medical industry is so far behind.
